Terms of use and disclaimer

These terms cover hedgefund.md: the website, the HEDGEFUND.md skill file, the API at /api/v1 and the MCP server at /mcp (together, “hedgefund.md”). “We” means the operators of hedgefund.md. By using hedgefund.md, or by having an agent call it for you, you agree to them. An agent’s call counts as yours. If you don’t agree, don’t use it.

In short: use it at your own risk. hedgefund.md is not a fund and nothing on it is an offer. Information here may be inaccurate or not current and isn’t verified, results are hypothetical, nothing here is investment or any other advice, hedgefund.md never trades, takes money, holds keys or assets, issues or sells any security or token, runs a fund or gives investment advice, you may not use any output to market an investment, and you are responsible for what your agents do.

1.Use at your own risk

hedgefund.md is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, availability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. You use it at your own risk.

2.Information may be wrong or out of date

hedgefund.md shows no third-party data: no prices, rates, yields, fees, NAVs, market data or provider data, and it fetches nothing from other sites. Every number a tool uses comes from your request, from a made-up template you chose to run, or from a default or generic formula the tool states. Those formulas are simplifications. They can be wrong for your case, and the skill and this site can be inaccurate, incomplete or not current. The code can have bugs and its tests can miss them, so any result can be wrong, including a limit check.

Check every figure yourself, with the people and sources you rely on, before you act on it.

3.Not advice

Nothing here is investment, legal, tax, accounting or regulatory advice, a recommendation, or an offer of any security, token or fund interest. Nothing on hedgefund.md is a recommendation or endorsement of any asset, security, token, fund, provider, product or service. The HEDGEFUND.md skill is guidance for software agents and doesn’t guarantee any outcome.

The tools calculate, compare and check what you send against rules you choose. They don’t approve, enforce, certify or verify anything, including anyone’s identity, they can miss problems, and a clean result isn’t an approval or an assurance. Nothing on hedgefund.md makes anything compliant with a law, regulation or standard, legally valid, or safe.

hedgefund.md is not a hedge fund or any other fund. It doesn’t act as an investment adviser, a commodity trading advisor, a commodity pool operator, a broker-dealer, an exchange, an alternative trading system, a transfer agent, a custodian or an issuer, and it isn’t registered as any of them with any regulator, anywhere. HEDGEFUND.md is the name of a file format that holds one book’s limits and sleeves. The name doesn’t describe what hedgefund.md is, and no fund stands behind it.

Nothing on hedgefund.md is an offer to sell, or a solicitation of an offer to buy, any security, token or fund interest, anywhere. It raises no money and takes no subscriptions. It is free. It takes no commission or other pay tied to any transaction, and no pay from any issuer, fund, broker, adviser or venue to mention, favor or leave out anything.

Everything here is general information and arithmetic. Nothing is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything, and nothing is tailored to anyone. The skill, the templates and the tools work the same way for every reader, and a result changes only with the numbers sent. The tools don’t keep those numbers or know whose they are, and they know nothing about your situation, objectives or finances. Any limit you set is your own number, and it shapes only what your own agent reads. Every decision is yours, and using hedgefund.md creates no adviser, client, fiduciary, broker or agency relationship with anyone.

hedgefund.md assumes you know these instruments and can judge its output. If you don’t, don’t use it to decide anything.

hedgefund.md has no market data or prices, and no picks or signals of our own. It doesn’t place, route, match, execute, clear or settle any order, takes no money and holds no keys or assets. check_order compares numbers you send with limits you send. It sits in front of nothing and enforces nothing, and an outcome of within_limits is not an approval, a best execution check or a compliance check.

Some templates, such as trend_vol_target and pairs_spread, walk a rule through prices you send, with windows and thresholds you choose or a default the result states. That is a hypothetical look back. It is not a trading system, a signal service or commodity trading advice, and it isn’t meant to be followed or run mechanically. A z-score or an open trade in a result, or a weight worked out from one is where the arithmetic stopped, not a position to take.

Results are hypothetical. They come from numbers you send, made-up templates, stated defaults and simplified formulas. Nobody achieved them. They reflect no real trading, and because no trade was made, they can understate or overstate the effect of things like costs and lack of liquidity. They are prepared with hindsight, and they don’t indicate future results. Nobody should assume any account will or is likely to achieve anything like them. Even on real numbers, a result shows only what the arithmetic gives.

A return, yield, carry or Sharpe in a template’s result is arithmetic on made-up numbers. It isn’t anyone’s return, and nothing is on offer at that figure.

Don’t show any output to investors, prospective investors or clients, don’t present it as a fund’s or anyone’s performance, and don’t use it to market or sell any investment, fund, token, strategy or service. That covers pitch books, tear sheets, fact sheets, investor letters, offering documents, websites and anything like them, and it covers risk figures as well as returns. Don’t say or imply that hedgefund.md ran, checked, reviewed or stands behind a number, a book or a fund. If you do any of this anyway, then as between you and us that use and everything that follows from it is yours alone, and section 4 applies.

A result is not a rating, an audit, an attestation, an appraisal, a quote, a valuation or an opinion on any asset, fund or issuer, and it doesn’t show that reserves or assets exist.

Whether a tokenized asset is a security, who may hold it and how it may be transferred or pledged are legal questions for your own counsel. Nothing here answers them. A model that compares a redemption, a pool or a secondary sale compares arithmetic on your numbers. It doesn’t say any of those routes is open to you or lawful, and nothing here is a way around a transfer limit, an eligibility rule, a holding period or any other rule.

Names in templates are made up, and any likeness to a real person, asset, fund or issuer is chance. The numbers in templates and starter books are made up too. They are not market levels, typical values or estimates. A starter book is not a model portfolio or an allocation, and a starter’s name describes a shape, not a fund or a strategy on offer.

Presets and the limits in them are examples to edit. They are not advice on where any limit belongs.

Monte Carlo results depend on the seed and on your assumptions. Another seed gives other numbers, and getting the same numbers back shows only that the arithmetic repeats.

HEDGEFUND.md files, the starters and the checker describe a file format. A clean check, an inputs_hash, a book_id or a recorded yes is a record you keep. It is not an approval or proof that a number is right, that anyone agreed to anything, or that any trade happened.

Don’t use hedgefund.md to produce advice or recommendations for others, or build it into a service that does. If you advise anyone, or manage or raise money for anyone, your duties are yours, and nothing here meets them for you. The rules on advice, funds, securities, commodities and hypothetical performance are yours to follow, with your own counsel.

4.You’re responsible for your agents

hedgefund.md never trades, takes money, holds keys or assets, issues or sells any security or token, runs a fund or gives investment advice. Anything your agents do runs on your own accounts, under the terms of the services you use, at your cost. You are responsible for the settings you choose, for approvals, for your credentials and for following every service’s terms and the law. Settings an agent drafted count only once you agree to them, and you are responsible for your agents either way.

To the fullest extent the law allows, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operators and contributors of hedgefund.md, and their owners, employees and agents, against any claim, loss or cost, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of hedgefund.md, your agents’ actions, your breach of these terms, any use of an output with investors or clients or to market anything, or your dealings with brokers, exchanges, venues, custodians, issuers, administrators, lenders, investors, clients, regulators or anyone else. This doesn’t cover a loss caused by their own fraud or willful misconduct.

5.Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operators and contributors of hedgefund.md, and their owners, employees and agents, are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of money, data, profits or business, arising from your use of, or inability to use, hedgefund.md or any information from it, even if told such loss was possible. Where liability can’t be excluded, our total liability is limited to US$100.

Nothing in these terms waives a right the law doesn’t let you waive, including under federal or state securities or commodities law. Some places don’t allow these limits, and there they apply only as far as the law allows.

6.Sources and trademarks

The skill and the tools use generic terms and public, generic formulas. Names of standards, units, file formats and formulas are used only to describe them and imply no affiliation.

Where code on hedgefund.md (for example, an install command or a configuration file name) mentions a tool, client or service so that it works with it, that name is a trademark of its owner, used only for compatibility. hedgefund.md is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them. If you own a mark and want us to change how we use it, write to us.

7.Acceptable use

Don’t overload, attack or try to disrupt hedgefund.md, and don’t use it to break the law or anyone else’s terms. Don’t send it anything you aren’t allowed to share, such as inside information or a client’s confidential data. We may rate-limit, block, change or stop any part of hedgefund.md at any time, without notice.

8.Privacy

hedgefund.md has no accounts and sets no cookies, and you can use it without giving any personal information. To learn what’s useful, we count page views, copies, skill fetches and API and MCP calls with anonymous server-side events sent to an analytics provider. We store no IP addresses: a one-way daily hash of the IP address and browser string counts unique visitors, and the country comes from our host’s request headers. Counting runs only on the live site, and visiting with ?internal=1 turns it off in that browser.

Except for note_missing, below, settings and anything you send to a tool are used only to answer that request. hedgefund.md doesn’t store them and doesn’t send their values to analytics: only the tool name, a known preset name and how many settings were given. Our host keeps standard server logs, and a URL can appear in them, so send positions and other sensitive numbers by POST, or run the local library, which sends nothing here.

If you send hedgefund.md feedback at /feedback, your message and any contact details you add are emailed to the site owner’s inbox, so leave out anything private. An AI agent may also leave a short note naming something missing through the note_missing tool. That note is kept with the anonymous usage counts.

9.License

The HEDGEFUND.md skill and this site’s code are under the MIT License, with its own no-warranty and no-liability terms. It covers copying and changing that code and text. It gives no right to use the name hedgefund.md to market anything, and anything owned by third parties is not covered.

These terms cover this site, its API and its MCP server, and the license doesn’t change them. If you run your own copy, the license covers the copy and the law covers what you do with it. Nothing we say makes that use lawful. Don’t present a copy you changed, or anything it produces, as coming from hedgefund.md.

10.Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version, and continued use means you accept it.

The changelog, the updates shown on the page and any list of planned work describe what has shipped and what we are weighing. They are information, not a commitment to build, keep or support anything, and planned items can change or be dropped without notice.

11.If part of this fails

If part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a part isn’t giving it up.
